2011-2012 Snow Season

As barren as the Boise Foothills appear, there is snow in Idaho - you just have to go farther afield to enjoy it.  Conditions for backcountry ski touring in the Stanley Basin area are good (as of last weekend) in the woods.  Surface crystals are developing again, which can make a pleasant surface in meadows.  Trail-breaking conditions are fairly easy.
